Simpli5

Simpli5 is an invisible teeth straightening method, which is designed to correct minor problems with the alignment of the teeth. Simpli5 works in a similar way to Invisalign and Clearstep and is a popular choice with patients who want to make minor modifications to the look of their smile without worrying about having to wear highly visible, unattractive braces.

About Simpli5

Simpli5 is an invisible aligner system. Rather than using traditional orthodontics, such as fixed braces made up of brackets and wires, Simpli5 employs removable aligners to straighten the teeth. The aligners push and pull the teeth, gradually moving them into the correct position.

As the name of the treatment suggests, this system uses a series of 5 aligners to gently straighten the teeth; aligners are worn for period of time that lasts between 2 and 4 weeks and the aligners are worn in a set order. The aligners are removable, but they should be worn for at least 22 hours every day to ensure the best results, they should really only be removed when you are ready eat or to brush your teeth.

How long does treatment take?

The short treatment time is one of the best things about Simpli5. This system is designed for patients with minor orthodontic issues and therefore treatment time is very short compared to most other treatment options. Typically, treatment takes between 10 and 20 weeks.

What are the advantages of Simpli5?

There are myriad advantages for patients looking for invisible braces that work swiftly. Treatment is very quick, with results visible within weeks and the aligners are removable, which enables you to eat without any concerns and clean your teeth easily. The aligners are also light and they do not contain bands or ties, which have to be adjusted, which makes the treatment process much less painful. Simpli5 is also more straightforward than other aligner systems because there are only five aligners in total.

As treatment time with Simpli5 is shorter than other orthodontic treatments, fewer visits to the dentist are needed, which also helps to reduce the cost of treatment.

Am I a suitable candidate?

If you have minor problems with the alignment or positioning of your teeth and you are looking for a quick and discreet treatment, Simpli5 is definitely worth considering. Simpli5 is not suitable for patients with more complex needs because the aligners cannot provide as much support for the teeth as fixed braces and they can only produce a limited amount of movement; however, for minor cases, they are a great option.

Simpli5 has become increasingly popular in recent years and the treatment is available from our practice based in Edinburgh.
